Squamish Oceanfront Development

Phasing

 THE PHASING FOR SQUAMISH OCEANFRONT HAS BEEN DETERMINED WITH ONE FUNDAMENTAL PREMISE:  DEVELOPMENT MUST COMMENCE  AT THE OCEAN IN ORDER TO CREATE AND DRIVE THE VALUE, BRAND AND MOMENTUM FOR THE PROJECT AND ACCELERATE DELIVERY OF COMMUNITY GOALS. THERE ARE SIX IMPORTANT PHASING POINTS DURING THIS PERIOD.

Phase 1

The first phase of Oceanfront Park opens along with facilities to incubate future business and arts uses. Planning and engineering work will be underway for the first phase of Oceanfront Village and the Hotel.

Phase 2

The Oceanfront Hotel and the first phase of the Oceanfront Village open. Planning and engineering work will be underway on the Marine Centre, initial buildings in the Work Place and the second phase of Oceanfront Village. Sales and construction activity will commence on the first residential projects in Marina Boardwalk.

Phase 3
The first two residential projects open in Marina Boardwalk along with the second phase of the Oceanfront Village. The first two new buildings open in the Knowledge Based Industry Campus. Construction activity is underway on the first buildings in the Marine Centre and the first phase of the Marina.

Phase 4

This is the pivotal development year for the Squamish Oceanfront. The second phase of Oceanfront Park opens along with the Lands End Monument, the Pier, the second phase of the Marina and the Cruise Ship Terminal. The Marine Centre is nearing completion and fully operating. The first phase of the Learning Centre also opens. All the major Access Roads and Infrastructure will be completed in this year.

Phase 5

Critical mass of all commercial and residential development should be complete at this point. The Work Place has now achieved significant momentum attracting larger established employers. The Community Amenity Centre will now be open to service the growing residential population on the Squamish Oceanfront.

Phase 6

Development is now complete on the Squamish Oceanfront with the final residential projects opening, the Performing Arts Centre and Studio completing and the Work Place successfully attracting a major knowledge based industry employer.
