The detached homes are the hot sector of the Squamish Real Estate market. 60% of sales to new listings for the detached portion of the market makes for a nice balanced market. Apaartments and townhouses are only 30% sales to new listings wich is a decidedly Buyer's market. Sales are up 3 times what they were this time last year. Sales for the detached portion of the market are up 6% from the month before while attached properties are down 60%. The holiday season typicly sees fewer new listings and to date the new listings are already down 20% from the previous month, but we are seeing a demand for housing wich is unseasonable high. The next month should see fewer listings , but the demand may continue to be abnormaly high which is good news for those still trying to unload their property.
